While the castle is a rather obvious place to visit, given the way that it dominates the Edinburgh skyline, there are many other places that are well worth considering. The Scott Monument, the Royal Museum of Scotland, the Scottish National Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, the Scottish Parliament, the Palace of Holyrood House - the list is enormous! And if you are a visitor to Edinburgh by motorbike (or car) you could do worse than to ride up to the top of Arthur's Seat in Holyrood Park (follow signs for the Palace or the Parliament) and enjoy the spectacular views across the city and on a clear day across to Fife. | ||
